I can tell you there are 2 kids on that list that are not committed and 1 of them is not playing ball at all.

List is from newspapers, twitter, facebook, etc sources and NOT the school. There are bound to be a couple of discrepancies between those that say they are going to attend and those that actually show up. I've got a pretty good track record over the last 4 or 5 years but not 100% (95%??).

Who are the players of which you speak?

The 2 from John Marshall and I did just confirm that with 1 of the parents.

WLU 2016 Recruiting Class is posted at:

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University head football coach Roger Waialae has added 18 new faces to the Hilltopper roster for the 2016 season. "It's a little smaller class than we've had in the past," Waialae said, "but with so many returning players, we really didn't have room for a big group. That allowed us to be a little more selective and I'm pretty pleased with the result. "I thought our coaches did a great job of bringing in quality talent with a focus on filling specific needs. Having said that, we're probably not finished yet. We're still talking to some kids who are late deciders and could be impact players. We'll know more in the next few weeks." A closer look at this year's recruiting haul shows where much of the Hilltoppers' off-season attention was focused. More than half of the 18-man recruiting class are offensive or defensive linemen with the rest of the group evenly split between wide receivers and defensive backs.

Smaller class due to the high number of players returning. 18 including 11 former OVAC standouts. Class includes one of the John Marshal cats I mentioned earlier...We'll see if the second is one of the late deciders that Coach Waialahe referred to. Looks like a few local transfers that decided that West Liberty was the place they should have gone all along!

I've been told that Chase Gump has enrolled for the fall at WLU. Don't know why he's not included along with his John Marshal teammate Austin Skrzyneki. Maybe he's not playing?? KEVDRCH can you shed any light?

Rumored to be two D1 transfers inbound to WLU from Penn State and the University of AZ. A WR and a lineman (don't know if they will be an O or D). No names provided at this time.

                  From the Dan Monteroso string:

Monteroso seems pretty similar to another former D1 WLU picked up a couple of years ago, Dylan Potts. Potts was lightly used at Akron, transferred to WLU, and dominated for two years. WLU has some talent at WR but are not terribly experienced so it seems like a perfect opportunity!

Quick update. Dan Monteroso confirmed he is going to WLU and will be playing basketball...undecided on football at this time.

The WR transferring from Penn State is confirmed. The lineman from AZ was just an internet rumor.

No update on weather Chase Gump is going to follow fellow John Marshal team mate Austin Skrzneki to WLU.

Gump does not wish to play football any longer.

                        OK...Thanks.

FYI...It is confirmed that Dan Monteroso is going to play football as well as basketball at WLU. That is kind of a big deal as there are VERY few D1 or DII athletes that have played these two sports. Much more prevalent to play football and track or another non-contact spring sport.

The MEC had their Football Media Day last Wednesday. You can view the press conference with comments from each program at https://www.facebook.com/mountaineastconference/
