One bright spot for Cameron was a single by Thomas in the third inning.

Kelley was the winning pitcher for Conotton Valley Rockets Softball. The fireballer went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out seven.

Mason took the loss for Cameron. Mason allowed seven hits and ten runs over four innings.

Williams led Conotton Valley Rockets Softball with two hits in two at bats.  Conotton Valley Rockets Softball stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Daphne Stuber led the way with two.  Conotton Valley Rockets Softball was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Williams had the most chances in the field with eight.

Frontier vs Madonna

As for Frontier, they found themselves down early to Madonna in the 1A Semi-finals 3-0. Eventually knotting things up at 3-3. Then came the massive 6th inning for the Cougars where their bats woke up and they exploded for nine hits and earned themselves a 10-run inning to give them a chance to meet Cottonton Valley in the finals.

It started with Keeley Barrows and a double. Then Kaycee Berentz hits a single up the gut of the defense to score Barrows. Add hits from Alexa Allen and Gracie Mendenall and this increased the score from the 3-3 tie to a 7-3 lead.

Now add in Kate Congleton’s 2 run homer later in the 6th you find Frontier with a commanding 11-3 lead. Mendenall capps things off and finishes the Blue Dons with a 2 run single, giving us the final score of 13-3 and advancing Frontier to the 1A Finals.

Shadyside vs. Toronto

Good things never come easy. At least that’s what you can say for this game. It took Shadyside 8 innings to get this one done over Toronto, winning a close one 10-6.

It was 6 all at the end of the regulation 7 innings of play. That’s when Abby Gorrell and Bella Honeywell both added a couple 2-run singles to spark the 4-run 8innings for the Tigers.

This was a heartbreaker for Toronto as the battled throughout this game. Their 5th inning saw them add three runs and another in the 6th

However, that’s when starting pitcher Taylor Fulton exited the game and reliever Arianna Sexton entered. Sexton wrapped up the game in the zone striking out nine to help the Tigers earn the win and advance to the finals Saturday vs Wheeling Central.

Wheeling Central vs. Monroe Central

As for the for mentioned Marron Knights, they made it look easy against Monroe Central ending this one 8-0 after the top of the 7th.

Amassing 18 hits on the day Wheeling Central’s girls handle business right out of the gate, scoring 4 runs in the opening inning. Wheeling’s Jensen Rine had four singles on the day to lead the Knights in hits.

Add 3 more runs in the third and Wheeling was in cruise control. This made life a bit easier for Wheeling’s Josie Frizzell, who shinned on the mound striking out 14.

That combo of good pitching and hot bats just made it for a tough outing for Monroe Central.

Wheeling’s Josie Frizzell, Brook Edge, Jocelyn Shaw and Maddie Miehle all added hits as well for the Maroon Knights.
