With the loss, the Lady Cards moved to 6-16 overall and 5-13 in the WVIAC while the Lady Rams improved to 10-7 in league play and 12-9 overall.

The Wheeling Jesuit men (12-9, 9-9 WVIAC) fell in the final minutes of the second half as Shepherd University (10-12, 7-10 WVIAC) rallied to erase a nine point deficit with 7:24 left to play. Shepherds Chad Moore knocked down a three-point shot with 2:57 to tie the game at 60 apiece while WJU’s Steve Catich put the Cardinals back on top 62-60. On the ensuing possession, Brantley Osborne fired a three-ball for the Rams first lead of the second half with 1:24 remaining, 63-62.

The Cardinals came up empty and were forced to send the Rams to the free throw line to secure the last possession of the game. After two mad free throws by Sidney McCray, Wheeling Jesuit had two final looks from beyond the arc to send the game into overtime with both of the touching the rim twice and falling to the floor.

defensive efforts while Dave Karison and Brantley Osborne recorded 13 pointsand 12 points, respectively. Rounding out the double-digit scoring for the Rams were Marcus Pilgrim (11) and Johnathan Motichka (10).
