WJU Women’s 4 x 400 Meter Team Sets School Record

Wheeling, WV -The Wheeling Jesuit women’s track and field team rewrote the WJU record book this weekend at the Kent State Tune-Up while several athletes recorded personal best marks.

The team of Lindsay Mills, Ashley White, Olivia Lent and Janey Hall cruised to the finish line with a time of 4:03.75, resetting the 4 x 400m mark set by Sarah Kmet, Amanda Davidson, Stacy Pyles, and Katie Kmet, 4:05.60.

Hall, Lent, and White continued to their record setting ways, as the trio set personal best records in the 200 meter dash while being joined by teammate Kristen Saggio.

Hall led the pack, placing seventh with a time of 26..36 while Lent (9th) and White (10th) finished side-by-side with times of 26.57 and 26.59, respectively. Saggio crossed the line a second later with a time of 27.85.

Megan Truelove and Michelle Pottratz rounded out the women’s personal best performers. Truelove recorded a personal mark in the mile run, finishing ninth overall with a time of 5:12.57 while Pottratz finished 13th in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:45.88.

For the men, Brandon McKinley and Craig Neiswanger recorded best performances in the 400 meter dash. McKinley finished the 400m ninth overall with a time of 48.95 while Neiswanger finished with a time of 54.01.. In addition, McKinley finished third in the 200 meter dash, 22.28, tying his best which was set one week ago at Grand Valley State University.

The men’s distance runners also finished with best times. Matt Mason ran his best collegiate mile, completing the race with a time of 4:26..59 while Adam Carter used the same event for a best time of 4:38.95. Luke Holubeck completed the distance PR’s with a 3,000 meter run time of 8:55.66.

Megan Pratt turned in two solid performances in the throwing events, finishing fifth in the weight throw 17..06m (55’ 11.75”) and the shot put 13.33m (43’ 9”) , while Julio Villatoro and Mike Sammel finished the day with record tosses.

Villatoro set marks in the weight throw wit a distance of 15.80m (51’ 10”) and in the shot, 14.13m (46’ 4.25”), while Sammel hurled the weight 13.07m (42’ 10.75”).
