{"id":4410,"date":"2011-05-06T20:41:29","date_gmt":"2011-05-07T00:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ovathletics.com\/home\/?p=4410"},"modified":"2011-05-06T20:41:29","modified_gmt":"2011-05-07T00:41:29","slug":"wvu-williams-off-to-good-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ovathletics.com\/home\/wvu-williams-off-to-good-start\/","title":{"rendered":"WVU Williams Off to Good Start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORGANTOWN, W.Va.\u2013 Senior Katelyn Williams is off to a good start as she represents the West Virginia University track and field team in the heptathlon at the BIG EAST Championships this weekend in Villanova, Pa.<\/p>\n<p>Williams has completed four of the seven events including the high jump in which she took first place while matching her personal best jump of 1.79 meters.<\/p>\n<p>She also placed third in the shot put (11.09 meters), fifth in the 200-meter dash (25.83) and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.43).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKatelyn is off to a great start,\u201d coach Sean Cleary says. \u201cShe was very consistent today and I am excited to see her attack tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also competing today, senior Ternia Miller finished 10th in the women\u2019s hammer throw with a distance of 49.93 meters.<\/p>\n<p>The Mountaineers will continue action tomorrow starting at 9 a.m., with the completion of the heptathlon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team is rested and focused,\u201d Cleary adds. \u201cIt is time to find out how good we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MORGANTOWN, W.Va.\u2013 Senior Katelyn Williams is off to a good start as she represents the West Virginia University track and field team in the heptathlon at the BIG EAST Championships this weekend in Villanova, Pa.
