    Madonna-Harrison Central: DH

Dons swept a double header with Harrison Central today by scores of 11-0 and 13-5. Senior George Magnone threw a no hitter in the first game with 6 strike outs. Ed Nogay had a stellar pitching performance with 3 K's while freshmen Ryan Mendenhall sealed the win on the mound for the Dons.

Madonna improves to 7-1 on the season and is playing some great baseball heading into a busy week with games against Linsly, WCC, and the Catholic Tournament.

    Congratulations on two great wins!

Good job dons! Looks like they are ready for the revenge at Central for the loss in the first game of the season and going into the Catholic Tournament with a great run of now 7 wins in a row.

Game that will be the most interesting: May 5: Weirton Madonna at Magnolia. That should be one heckuva ball game between two of West Virginia's and the Ohio Valley's top programs.

I heard that Madonna played very good ball at the tournament. Beating the #6 team in the state, Charleston Catholic, was a huge win for the Dons. I see a lot of players stepping up which is always a good thing. They had 9 guys who played the game against a top team. Good Job!
