Mariners picked an Ohio Senior (John Glenn) last night in the MLB Draft in Colt Emerson. Have heard a lot about this player - has anyone in the Ohio Valley seen him play? CONGRATS from the Ohio Valley...exciting news for a 17 or 18 year old. smile

I read online that his family lives in Cambridge. If that is true then why did he go to John Glenn?

Many Cambridge addresses are included in JG school district..his house is one of them. Plus his Dad is a JG grad.

Wonder why on the MLB draft broadcast they said he was from Glenn H.S.? Thought that was silly and ignorant on the Mariners part not to include entire name of school.

Surf...maybe someone just saw Glenn and thought that was the name of the high school?? Pretty big jump from high school at age 17-18 ...CONGRATS to Colt Emerson. smile

Unfortunately, at a lot of places (more toward the plains and Texas) a high school named for a person is often shorthanded to the person’s last name. Some Ohio high schools are also like this.

I agree that it’s a bad look and disappointing. John Glenn was a consummate public figure and statesman of Ohio.
