    Buckeye 8 conference playoffs

How does the tie breaker work, like in the North Division Buckeye Local and Edison are tied with 3-5 division records, and in South Division Martin's Ferry and Union Local are tied with 5-3 records, and both teams split the games with one another,do they go to the overall records

Is that how they do it to break the tie, doesn't seem fair if the one team loses the first time around then is much improved the next time play beats the same team

In my opinion that is one super stupid method of breaking a tie. Go to who won by the largest amount between the two, or how well they did against the next highest placer.

It is in the Conference by-laws that the first scheduled match-up will determine standings if there is a tie.

Agreed it needs to be changed, but that is how it determined.

The only problem with who won by the largest margin, are they then going to leave there starters in or are they going to try run the score up then, I thought maybe if did tie with same league records and both split there games with one another,go there overall records, then use a deadline date to determine the overall records, let's say this year use this Saturday January 25 as deadline date,so that could give them at least a week to prepare there team, then I guess what if they both have the same overall records, who knows then

It would be nice for the principals, athletic directors, and coaches agree to more conference scheduling. For example, in basketball/volleyball/baseball/softball, teams should play their side of the league twice and the other side once. In football, teams could play their side (4 games) and 2-3 crossover games (which would rotate every year). You either play the members of your CONFERENCE, or you leave the conference. There would still be plenty of games to schedule non-conference teams that may be rivals, better/lesser competition, etc.

This would make it more of a conference feel, rather than just a conference by name. You could use division record, head to head, then record against the opposite division as the first 3 tiebreakers. The 4th tiebreaker could still get in the way.
