    Weir High:
    1. Ron "Fritz" Williams- all-time leading scorer; great player for WVU (one of the first African-American athletes at WVU) and eight seasons in the NBA for Warriors and Bucks; Many who have seen him play put him as the best in the history of the valley.
    2. John Amendola- averaged 30 and 24 his last two seasons; went on to Marshall and played on the last two Marshall teams to make it to the NCAA tournament.
    3. Mark Linkesh- third all-time leading scorer played Division I at Furman University

Since I've been watching OVAC basketball since 1969, the best that I have seen is Nate Davis- Bellaire.

              Probably not.

              I think I would say:

              Porter
              Scarnecchia
              Barr

Schaffer and Barbina make honorable mention.

I think you have to throw in Jason Bundy's name at Union Local. He would have scored a lot more points at U.L. but he graduated the same year as Ben Porter. Both had great college careers at O.U. Eastern for two seasons and were all conference.

Jason Bundy moved on to Athens and made Ohio University's team as a walk on for two seasons. I think that makes Bundy the only NCAA Division I player in U.L. history. Let me know if that's incorrect.

That is correct, to my knowledge anyway. It would be a lie if I suggested that I had considered him. But if we are basing this purely on what was done in high school, he would still probably not crack the top three. Granted, I probably didn't see him play as much as some folks who are a little older than I.

20 catches - barely over 200 yards, what a career- and thats when the lib wasn't so good. Hope he got the degree.

Did the Barbina kid from UL play up at Erie, heard he left?

He played and started for Fairmont as well. Did you look at the stats for the receiver on the other side of him from West Lib. It was R. Stevens which got a shot in the NFL so I doubt he saw many balls his way. As for Barbina......I think he left school because he was home sick.

good for him... maybe i am blind, but according to Fairmont State's stats - he had 12 receptions. Pretty good for a starter... Also heard he asked to try out at WLSC but was told there was no need. It is great if any kid can get an education by playing sports, but don't brag for nothing. Just say he played college ball and thats enough.

Listen I know who you are. Lets end it at this he played and you played intermurals in college. Also at least he played when he was at Brooke and the most you did when you were at Brooke was getting me a glass of water when I came off the court. Got it DJJK1
