Aiden Davis is the only right answer here. Nobody else on this list has West Liberty at every game watching. He plays against the toughest schedule and will go down as Park's all time leading scorer if there is no injury.

Problem is a lot of bigger schools don’t post stats on sites like max preps. You basically give the other team your player’s proficiency rates in numerous areas. Better to make coaches scout and dig or believe what they hear should be fire dor read in the paper. Ohios max prep ranking has a lot of the top stat guys all from small schools as a result.
not accurately keeping stats available in 2024. Kids bust there balls off to perform. The least a coaching staff can do for a kid is have an updated maxpreps.
Haven’t stepped foot in Weirton this year and have seen 6 games. No secrets can be kept by withholding info in this day and age.

The last two post I think you guys both made really good points but at the end of the day if you can hoop you can hoop. If you can shoot you can shoot. Doesn’t matter who’s the comp, all that matters is can you put the ball through the hoop. So far the Vincent boy has proven to be one of those guys.

What part can’t you believe? Basketball is basketball at every level. Bigger school only means that they have more kids to pull from, doesn’t mean that the kids are better or more skilled. The name on the front of a teams jersey doesn’t give a kid superpowers lol, the fact still remains that most of the kids in the OVAC arent basketball players and do not put in the time to be considered hoopers. Why do you think our OVAC teams never win state chips in WV or Ohio? If school size matters, tell me how Wheeling Park is the worst team in Wheeling. 1. Linsly 2. Central. 3 Park. Don’t want to hear that they recruit because everyone does it. I started this post to see who are some of the best shooters out there, can I get some stats? So far we’ve got Cross from Weir shooting 43% on about 53 attempts and Vincent from Bpt shooting 45% with 48/107. Anything else other than stats can be talk about on another post.

I saw Steub has stats. Wiggins is their best shooter and is at 41 percent around 58 attempts. like is said you are going to see good 2 guards in that 40 percent area.
Birch is at 43 percent on 51 attempts for EL
who also on mprepsLast edited by Kdawg; 01-09-2024, 03:27 PM.

Why is Wheeling Park the worst team in Wheeling? Because 8 Linsly players aren't from Wheeling for one. Which means they draw from a bigger pool than Wheeling, and thus have more talent.
Carry on with your conversation about 3pt shooters. But make dumb comments, and I have right to respond. This isn't your message board.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. Like I said 95 percent of the kids in the OVAC aren’t real hoopers and will NOT play college basketball. The Ohio Valley has a handful of guys that can play the rest just can’t. Sorry it’s the truth. Maybe I could have said best shooters by percentage and makes but I didnt. So for the sake or arguing let’s take Linsly outta the equation for the best team in Wheeling. The fact would still remain that they aren’t better than Central. Let’s say if the Vincent boy from BPT played at one of these bigger schools, wouldn’t the game come easier to him, due to the fact the guys are around him are more talented? Once again stats don’t lie. I do understand where you guys are coming from and everyone has their own opinion. Both of the high school associations that you mentioned separate schools by size not talent. So I’m going to say it again the size of school has nothing to do with the skill of each player. Your mentioning teams , im talkin about players. Just because you play at a small school doesn’t mean you can’t be better than a kid at a bigger school. Just because a team is a bigger school doesn’t mean that they will have a better team than a smaller one. Come on fellas. You all seem to have an Ohio Valley mindset. Think small. Worry about winning the OVAC chip and not the state, most teams around here go to the playoffs and crumble, because these so called good/big teams are weak and so is the valley. Listen I’m a Valley guy and want nothin but success for all our student athletes but what I said above is real talk. You guys can’t really think that kids on Brooke and JM and some of those other bigger schools are better than some of these smaller schools like Wheeling Central, Monroe Central, Toronto and so on. Come on watch games and compare scores from like opponents. For example. Indian creek beat bellaire tonight, Indian creek lost to 4A Edison by 12 I think, and Bridgeport has beat Edison 2 times this year. By the way Indian creek played ST.C and lost in a close game this year, idk you guys do the math. Seems like there isn’t that big of a gap between small and big schools, with the few teams that are at the top of the valley being on a different level being the exception. Dumb comments, come on buddy seems like you have an issue with what I’m saying don’t take **** so personal, this is just one of many topics on here, you must be tuff in real life.

Historically it’s gets difficult for Fans to comprehend there are divisions for a reason . Maybe that isn’t as obvious here in the OVAC /Valley as most agree the talent overall is weak . None the less it’s our schools and we can let ourselves be a little biasLast edited by Flatbush Ave; 01-10-2024, 02:49 PM.
