Bob Jeter (Iowa, Green Bay Packers), Bob Kelley (JUCO, would have been big time D1 RB had it not been for injuries), Keith Jeter (Tennessee), Quincy Wilson (WVU, Cincinnati Bengals)

He was pretty good on the field. And make no mistake: He is a BAD MAN!

Honeycutt was exceptional and probably had D1 talent, unfortunately not a good person.

In Strager's first year he was first team All Ohio in 69 and made All America in a few magazines from those days but not Parade. Rice, like Ron Lee and Ernie Washington, went on to play for Bowden. Rice was one of Bowden first recruits in his first season at WVU and Washington headed south to Florida St. in 76 to play for Bowden there. Boron went on to play at Miami for Bo Schembechler.
Jeff Rice was phenomenol was probably even a better student. Everyone talks about the current players 80's to present but really have no clue about the guys that played in the early years. I have never heard a person mention John Havelicek as a great football player because of his success on the hardwood. He probably could have played pro football , basketball and baseball.

I took many offensive snaps with Spencer but the man in the link, along with Alan Hornyak of St. John's and Ed Burghy of Bellaire walked on water to me as a younger kid.

St.C. only played 9 games that year. The first team All Ohio Double A (Big School at the time) offense had Jeff, Steubenville end Robert Washington, and Wintersville guard Jack Trimmer. Not bad for one conference.

Wintersville always seemed to have a great back every year. Some were already listed...here are a few that stand out for me.

                      Donnie Young, Wintersville
                      1st Team All-State 1967
Also listed as one of 100 players from across the country named as All-American
                      4100 yds career rushing
                      416 pts scored - career (202pts scored 1966 - most in Ohio)

Lamont Pancho Smith was also a very good back 1969-71

Kevin Wesley - mid-80's - went on to play at UConn, where he still holds some rushing records

One other Wintersville back - Les Carney '52. Went on to play at Ohio and run track there as well. Drafted by the Baltimore Colts, but never played and instead continued his track career. He won the Silver Medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics in the 200 meter.

My pal and co-worker, Victor Ceglie-Youngstown st. We had a two game series (st.c) in the seventies and we got to go at each other once.

No doubt Vic Ceglie is one of Madonna's all-time greats and should be in their HOF some day--one of only three WV all-state captains in football the school produced, and was later a starter at Youngstown State. But most remember him and David Osaba (Navy) as standout linebackers in high school.
