algernonsidney - what I meant "stand out" is the visual of bright orange/black. As a painting person I am drawn to strong colors. Other schools I really like are Monroe Central, Wheeling Central. I would love to see Bellaire go to a bright red instead of the darker red in their uniform.

My alma matter (David W Butler in Matthews, NC, who has one of the best football programs in NC and the country) have some great uniforms. A silver helmet w/ a black facemask. Brand new black and white Nike Pro Combat uniforms we got in 2010 and 2011 (I believe). And red, silver, and black pants. They look great. Unlike Big Red (not including their pro combat unis, I love those! ), Butler knows how to make red and black look good. If IC wants some tips on how to make red and yellow work together, they should mimic the Kansas City Chiefs and use yellow as sparingly as possible.

I agree, they need to go back to the 96 unis...brown/white with metalic gold numbers and an all gold helmet, I hate those large rounded numbers they use now.

Then why aren't they Big Blacks? I always wondered why a school that is known by their nickname as "Big Red" has black uniforms?
