Kimauni Johnson returned from injury against Mentor Lake Catholic, and had a monster game, really only one half. He essentially sat out most of the second half, had 134 and three TDs. He plays both ways and they are a different team with him, he did not play against Benedictine and Hoban. Their record is misleading, losing to two of the top teams in the state it looks like. He re-aggravated his shoulder, we'll see if he plays against Warren Harding, we'll know better if they are for real after that game.

If Johnson come in healthy, I agree with RRR 2001, this could be our toughest game remaining, and one of our toughest this year. Hard to imagine Ursuline this year is as good as St. Johns, I hope not. Let's see what trouble they give the Raiders.

Zach has a torn ACL. It's a shame as he was leading the league in passing yards, TD passes, QB rating, and was completing 70%.

Sad to hear about Zach. I went up to Hamilton earlier this year for the game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Tim Horton's Stadium is a great place to watch football and those Hamilton fans are raucous. Was hoping to go back up after golf ends, but not now. Hope the TiCats can keep it up, but they looked in disarray in Zach's absence.

Getting really excited about the Dover game. I am expecting a tough contest. You know that Dover and Coach Ifft will have something up their sleeve for us. ROLL RED ROLL!!!

It's going to be a good game. Like another poster stated Dover always finds away to ruin our seasons. It's going to come down to the D line. If they can put pressure on the QB then it frees ups our LBs to drop back into coverage to help out our DBs. Plus it should help to confuse Dover's young QB by wondering if Big Red will send the LBs or not.

Charles Reeves is starting to pick up some steam. I hope he can keep developing, keep working on his academics, stays healthy, and keeps maturing as a young man. Good luck kid

By always ruin our season you can't mean in football. I can remember only once and Big Red was down that year

Maybe the pope visit will encourage a catholic school resurgence in Youngstown? Kind of weird how Steubenville is the only city I can think of where the better athletes attend the public school. The way it should be. How different would the state playoffs be if all districts were like this?

That's bit of an exaggeration isn't it? Since 1980 or so, Dover has beaten Big Red twice, 1998 regular season game, and 2010 playoff game. So to say they "always ruin our seasons" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think :P

Bigred95....By ruin our season is in general speaking by not going undefeated. I understand one lost does not affect the season in football. It's a point not to over look Dover. If I remember right Dover beat us in basketball, baseball, and soccer (I believe) in the last couple years. Plus I personally do not want to hear Dover's BS if they do upset us.

                      Stay humble my friend.

Agreed, always felt Marcus would have benefited from starting that year. It would have paid off royally in 2011 as he would have had a year under his belt and that team was one of our best in the past decade. Taking nothing away from Anthony as QB that year, however, he was beyond a doubt our best wideout going into that season and was superb. We are not the coaches and obviously they felt Marcus needed another year, I personally think we would have had the same results in 2010, if not better. Back on Dover, the Tornado faithful are not too keen on this season, I've seen some saying 5-5, 6-4 at best on some blogs. One thing is I know they'll relish the role of super underdog and would love the upset. 2016, don't worry they'll be back.

Only two more years after this where that should no longer be an issue.

I tend to agree with Red and Black, Dover has been significant spoilers as of recent in several sports, even when we had good teams. They ruined very promising baseball and basketball playoff runs the past couple seasons, and of course our last football playoff loss to them after some of the most bizarre coaching in Steubenville history (that time out near the end of the first half when Dover was trying to run out the clock killed us --- and of course our utmost refusal to ever kick a ball since Mike Jones graduated).

They could be significant spoilers again with an upset this week. Doubt our kids will be looking ahead to Ursuline.......that's one thing our coaches seem to excel at more than most programs, truly and genuinely keeping the kids focused on the current opponent. If Dover's offense is truly down, a great opportunity to continue to learn defensively and strengthen against a strong passing scheme with perhaps less risk of their usual potent attack.

I have to believe their fan base will still be rocking, hopefully we can infiltrate the home side.

Remember that nauseating, unbelievable loss in 2010 to Dover.......31-28? Every football forum in Ohio was filled with obnoxious, gloating Tornado fans and a tongue in cheek Coach Ifft heaving false praise on Steubenville.

I'm one of those football fans who believes, this is a series that should be a yearly event. Heck even throw in New Philly onto that list, play the locals, fans will travel, lol.
