Sometimes those who can’t handle the truth, love to try & sugarcoat things or beat around the bush. Nothing wrong with being straight forward & getting to the point, lol
Should be a good game for the 1st Quarter & 1/2

Don’t think I’ve seen quite as many fast backs running against us. They don’t shoot themselves in the foot with penalties, and their coach kept running the edge, would have been a real battle.

Interesting defense for the Royals. Much of the first half, they actually ran a defense smaller than us. Only one guy on the field would’ve really be considered a lineman.

Toughest 2 win team you’ll ever see.
RIP Albert Ottenweiler, the last true Bishop of Steubenville.

Talking about teams who “stink” I know there’s a team people kept mentioning that’s stinks, people tried to tell some of you they stink. But I won’t say no names, I’ll just laugh. Lmbo

Your post just shows how disrespectful, ignorant, and the lack of football knowledge you have! Don't forget they have a great history against us and we only beat them twice. That means they are still the favorite to win the D4 state championship. All that has to happen now is the oshaa disqualifies 25 teams in the region, they get new players, coaches, and playbook and they will be well on their way to Canton! I can't believe you have to nerve to think this 3-5 team isn't the favorite! What's your problem? You don't remember 85??? How soon they forget. Mooney is still the clear cut favorite.

Agree this is a good post, coaching got in the way last night for the Royals. Strange that you can snap directly to a running back every play and they always seemed to be on the verge of breaking something big outside. Give them credit for improvising, they tried to keep us honest at times, but playing against that speed should help us for the playoffs. Wow their linemen were out of shape at Week 8. With the skill position talent they had and depth, with some average conditioning, that would be a formidable program. Missing many of their starters certainly didn't help with their penalty problems. A lot of fumbles in that game also that influenced things.

Once again, our fullbacks executed well, and No. 6 is simply a treat to watch. Seems like we are preparing to ride him into and maybe through the playoffs. Can you imagine if he gets faster and bigger for his senior season and our line stays healthy? He should and better garner a lot of attention.

I have to believe we can do something better on kick-offs regardless of the situation. We cannot allow our playoff opponents to start every game change possession at the 45 yard line. Hopefully that will be in the works before Week 11.

The ugly head was penalties and hanging on to the football. Hope it was just the size of the opposing players; they were huge, and faster than what we expected.
If things stay healthy, as noted, the playoffs could be really fun.
A side note. Yes we respect Cardinal Mooney but with 2 games left, Joe Eitel has them as 17th, unofficially. Long climb to number 8 with 2 games left?

Let's not call Mooney a clear cut favorite after their loss to Warren Harding last night. Their max win out average puts them in a delicate position to get into the playoffs, even should they win against Fitch, Girard is in a much better position to get in. How many saw Mooney and Ursuline playing each other Week 9 at a combined record of 4-12, WOW. If we played Ursuline this year they certainly wouldn't have been much help, wonder if they saw that coming. Did the city talent pool start migrating to East or move to Canfield?

300 and some yards rushing against the Red WOW. I thought our pass D was our Achilles heel . We got exposed a little . If Mooney gets in at 8th I know they will run run run, not sure what Hubbard does best yet or the other front runner. If we get out of our region the west side of the state is pass happy.

Mooney will not/does not have 5-6 backs that are quite as fast as the group from Erie. When they got the edge, we were hard pressed for anyone to catch them from behind. It was a good test.

I lost count on how many players for Erie took the snap, stopped counting at 5 players.
Was it me or was the officials really bad & undecided about a lot of calls for both teams ? We were sitting behind the Erie bench, you could hear their coaching calling for pass interference on every passing play, as soon as the ball was snapped. Talked the sideline Ref into a few calls before the play even finished.
Also the fumble by Erie into the end zone, watched it replay on my phone, Erie did have it at first, but BR took it away in the pile, lol

It was a joke, I said Mooney stunk way back in August.

It was one of the stranger offenses we've seen in a while, I wonder if the coaches were prepared for this or expecting this offense, somebody may have that insight? As several have noted, it was a different kind of test that will hopefully help us come playoff time. I like many worry so much about pass defense, what will playoff opponents learn from watching this game? We'll be better for it, and engineer is right, CVCA, Hubbard, Mooney, Poland, Struthers, Conneaut, or Girard will not have that combination of line size and running back depth/speed as the Royals did. We sort of know what to expect with Perry, that's almost starting to become a rivalry according to their coach.

It would be a fun atmosphere to line up against East Liverpool, Mooney, or Indian Creek at Harding Stadium come Week 11. Morgantown sure isn't doing us any favors.

                                RRR
