My prediction is:

      Steubenville 24
      Wyoming 21

Big Red will bring their A game.

I hope you aren’t talking about me. I know most teams in the state generally stink. I’m just astounded by the fact you got 4 of them to start this postseason. I mean a 5-7 Hartley team in Week 12 was the first clue. To whom did Reno sell his soul to get such pushovers?? Does he have a voodoo doll? I expect an actual game against Wyoming. Your postseason is officially just beginning IMO.

Wyomings postseason begins next week as well.

Reality is this…. Multiple communities in this area are commended by people for winning 2-3 playoff games then losing.

Big Red wins 4, still playing next week and same people discredit winning a regional championship no matter who the opponents were.

I’m not talking about you oracle… Just reading online stuff everywhere.

lastly, Jefferson Falcons just won a regional championship with 2 dozen players vs a team many thought could get to the title game.

A lot of bad football teams masked by what they could do when it was 70-80 degrees vs what they can do in winter elements.

3 of the 4 still playing are the best teams in D4. Now you got to play your best… We shall see

if we score 24 points that’s nearly as much as they’ve given up in 14 games.

We get 24 in this one, we win. This team we face has pitched 10 shutouts. Also, agree with you, penalties need to be reduced, period.

Tackling Hester is the key, kid has nearly 50tds and 3000 yards. He's their guy and hits a lot of home runs. Wyoming is a very, very good team and their 10 shutouts are unbelievable, but their schedule is awful for a program that good.

5-7 Hartley may be a bad record. But their schedule is LOADED. Played close games with St Francis Desales, Harvest Prep, ST joes who blew out park and Bishop Watterson. They also lost 35-7 to Big Walnut. With that being said, Big Red gave Bishop Hartley the largest loss out of all of those teams.

Watterson did not get blown by St. Joe's, Watterson lost 2 close games, Columbian and Bloom Carrol.

The Playoffs are now 16 teams….. 10 of them will always basically stink. Can’t help who you draw, just got to keep winning. Whether it’s by 1 or 50, who cares.

                      State-Semi on tap Saturday night.

1 thing… I I got a good laugh from folks saying IV was going to be “Physical” with Big Red...

Onto Wyoming and their near 3,000 yard back next. Should be a great game in Columbus

This is why we teach kids to diagram sentences. It should have been “St Joes (who blew out Park)” or, although an imperfect use of appositives, “St Joes, who blew out Park,”

Honestly, the only benefit I see to the expanded playoff is the ability for teams like Hartley to schedule up and go through the ringer and still make the playoffs. It also allows teams to create a very weak schedule and still get in no issue. A good example of which was the first round matchup between Edison and Mooney, Mooney played a tougher schedule and thus had the worse record, but came out the better team.
And the sad thing is only 2 teams seeded lower than 8th (two 10s) made it to the regional finals - I read that last week at ohsaa.org. Doing the math, that’s 2 out of 448 playoff teams or 0.45% who benefited from the OHSAA’s exceeding generosity in allowing them in - and they both lost over the weekend. Less than one-half of 1% but you know the OHSAA is making a killing from all of these extra games at the beginning… the all-important Week 11.
Do you know if the OHSAA posts the financials on each round of playoff football? I'd have to think the hit they took in 2020 has been covered and more in the last 2 seasons.
