Back to the game….i think if devils continue to mix it up on O they’ll win a close one. Running game is their favorite, but they’ve done a good job mixing it up and keeping teams off balance this year as the season has went on. Throwing on early downs has done them well and they have an excellent QB who makes the big throws when he’s asked. 44 looks like he’s healthy, and in hindsight, I think his absence has made them a better all around offense as they’ve used more weapons.

WH is a quality opponent and I think it will be a heck of a game. Hopefully it will be livestream so I can tune in.

PS west Holmes ability to throw concerns me after seeing that ready threw for 275 on them.

There is trolling, then there is this. Trolling is usually something even the poster doesn’t believe is true, but I honestly think everything said is actual thoughts. Begging for the demise of every valley school with any semblance of success just so Bellaire doesn’t look bad going 4-6 and getting blasted by the very teams you are commenting about. I’d say the majority of people on here want valley schools to be successful in the postseason, but as per usual, the loudest make everyone look like idiots.

For the record, IV did not play Steubenville this year. As I’ve said many times, last years game has absolutely zero impact on this year, but just in case you want to go by 2023 scores… StC 24- IV 20 in week 5. That game included #44 going for 233 yards rushing. Point 1 of your post… BS

Now for point 2…

Norwayne finished 9-1, beating last years state runner up in Dalton, and 9-0 Hillsdale. After losing their starting RB/MLB, they have struggled defensively and lost last Friday. The toughest opponent possible, no, but a decent season opener compared to many.

Bishop Ready went 7-5, with losses to 9-2 CHCA, 11-1 D3 Licking Valley, 9-3 D2 Badin, 9-3 D2 St. Francis DeSales, and StC. Of that list, please tell me who anyone in the valley other than Steubenville would dare schedule those teams, and you can include StC in that list. Most of the B8 has dropped them, and those that haven’t (Bellaire) hasn’t beat the Devils since 2013, and only twice since the long run of wins you speak of ended in 2007.

The only place Bellaire was even mentioned was them and their lackluster record against StC recently. I question whether you even read what is in the post, because what I stated is the opposite of what you just replied.

You brought up your two points of why StC would lose, close games with Ready and Norwayne, and IV being close with Steubenville last year. I refuted both, asked who would schedule anyone Ready lost to, and you took from that I said StC will lose because of Bellaire.

From what I was told, the OHSAA threatened the Hudl fan streams, and they were shut down for the entire state last week. Can’t let people watch without paying their astronomical ticket prices…

I agree with the passing attack, but the Ready passing attack was 100% set up by a good run game. Looking at the stats from the game with East Liverpool, the QB was their leading rusher with 20 carries for a mere 56 yards. Being one dimensional, even if it is passing, does not usually work against the Devils. Concerning for sure, don’t get me wrong, but StC was forced into a 4 man line against BR, while I believe they will be able to put an extra DB on the field against WH.

I am always confused as to why anyone would try to have an actual conversation with bigreds pride! His posts never add anything to the discussion and reading those posts damn near gives me an aneurysm trying decipher what is written and trying to determine what he meant by it.

Talked to a local fan from that way and they said that WH has had really good post season success 5 of last 6 years but lost a receiver to Yale and most of the coaches from last year’s team but that the entire offensive line, 3 good skill kids and the Eastern District player of the year QB returned. Also the eastern district defensive player of the year and some other good parts back on defense. Said the new coaching staff was terrible during the regular season but they some how drew very winnable games and that the kids have rose above the coaching to win those games.

This bodes well for us I believe as we know what our fantastic coaching staff is capable of. Should be a battle with their quality kids but our coaches will be the difference.

The new coach is young and is a WH alum. Three of the losses in the regular season are to teams still playing. Just as a point of comparison, no one on StC’s regular season is still playing.

I think McLean has the edge just by simple experience.
