I thought the all ovac team was in the times leader the day before Christmas or the day after.

I thought it was too. Shame what has happened to that paper. I might read it at campus library. Maybe OVAC doesn't do it any more.

Thanks to RES for giving a timeline to find the article (Dec 24th). They are listed in alphabetical order and not by the school's classification. You'll have to zoom in to read it.

I'd like to think that the OVAC's website would promote their all-star teams.

Does anyone know how the all-OVAC teams are voted on? What about the All-Valley teams released by the Wheeling Intelligencer/News Register? Kudos to all of the kids recognized, but there are some real head scratchers when you compare the 2 lists.

In a nutshell: Each coach nominates his own athletes only; in other words there isn't any vote. The number you are allowed to name are based on where you finished in your division. The top team is given 5 All-OVAC and 3 Honorable Mention, while the bottom dweller is given 1 All-OVAC and 2 Honorable Mentions.

I’m sure the OVAC makes a ton of money with how big the conference is you’d think they could hire someone to market their organization, schools, and players.

Agree 100%...ovac is a total waste. Largest sports conference in the nation and can't even keep website up to date

The All-OVAC teams were in the Times Leader and Intelligencer on both 12/24 and 12/26. It was not broken into classes, just listed by school alphabetically. The All Valley teams were in both papers 12/31 for all fall sports.
