2005-Went 8-2 and lost to #1 in Region 14 Bellaire and got stunned by Barnesville in the rain who was also #1 in their region. Its hard to argue that team is better than the 1978 Red Devils who had a D-1 running back and went 10-0. The 2005 REd Devils were very worthy of a Playoff Birth.

secretstud.....You obviously didn't see the kick itself. How could a kick be "questionable" if it landed short? If a kick was short I dont think anyone would have a reason to question that call. That doesn't make sense to me.

Beallsville finished 5th in their region 1987 9-1, 1988 9-1, 1989 8-2. 87 lost opener by 1 point, 88 lost to undefeated Mingo mid season, 89 lost first game to Mingo and third game to state semifinalist Shadyside to start out 1-2. 1987 was the best team with John Yocum at QB.

The year Central beat Moorefield in the last game of the year. The score was like 34-7?. Can't remember the year, but Moorefield won the championship.

bdwcc, I think it was 1999. Because WCC won State Championship in 2000, lost in Champ. game in 2001

1983 Barnesville Shamrocks featuring future Ohio State/Washington Redskins' lineman Tim Moxley...........went 9-1...missed the playoffs. Rip off. That was his junior year...his senior year, they were 8-2 and naturally didn't make it then either.

The best Beallsville team to not make the playoffs was 1977, 10-0, (they only took the top 2, not top 4 or 8, out of the regions then) Beallsville finished 3rd in the region.

I would have loved to have seen this one in the playoffs. I remember listening to that game on the radio.

No playoffs because of computer screw up.
It was 1972. It was a human being screw up.

That was 1997. They were 6-4. They lost to River, who was undefeated. They lost to Cadiz, who was a regional champ. They lost to Toronto, whose only loss was to Cadiz. They lost to Wellsville, whose only losses were to Toronto and Cadiz.

Moorefield was the only West Virginia on their schedule that year.

I should have said 1987 was the best out of the 87, 88, and 89 teams. You're right the 1977 10-0 team was loaded. And the only reason the 87 team was any good was because they got to play on the same team with you.
