With a schedule like that, they could win every game 99-0 and still wouldn't crack the top 50, unless they were coming off a state-title caliber year. In that case, they would get the benefit of the doubt until they lost or had a close call. (With no in-state games yet, Steubenville is highly ranked for this reason.)

I'll say it again, Ferry and St.C's opponents are both 18-18 at this point, and last time I checked EL and the Columbus Crusaders were not supposed to be this good. To be fair, I'd love fantastic50 to give us his thoughts on the Riders for the insight...

He already listed the riders at something like #230. They are not that good on a state wide basis either. That is the point.

If St.C wants a top 50 ranking, schedule D5 Youngstown Ursuline and beat them, not Nelsonville York.

When I post from my andriod cell phone, sometimes it posts twice for some reason? My apologies for shamelessly raising my post count.

Martins Ferry has a weaker schedule, a fairly close call against a mediocre opponent (Edison, 31-21) and a loss to the #211 team in the state, so I am more comfortable in saying that they're not a top-100 team.

St. Clairsville might be a great team, but hasn't had the chance to prove it; Martins Ferry has shown they're not a top team, even if they upset St. C.

On my website, you can see the details on any team by clicking on the page for their region.

Since posting this week's numbers, I found out that the open date in week 10 is a mistake; the correction will be up next week.

That's why I don't agree with ppl whom are on the side of OVAC teams playing 9 or 10 OVAC teams a year. If you have the talent to compete I believe teams need to get out and play few tough teams a year which prepares you for the playoff's. An OVAC banner doesn't mean sqaut in the state playoff's especially on the Ohio side.

Every team's goal should be to make the state playoff's and advance.
