    Best Inside Linebacker in OVAC

Who do you think is the toughest Linebacker in the Valley? (Middle only)

    I say

Jesse Stoudt from Barnesville - 6'0, 200+lbs, bench 300+, squat 300+, started as a freshman.

Dodd will be really good and hard to stop at the small school level. Very hard worker with size and decent speed.

I would think the thread should be the "best" LB in the OVAC. How does one define"toughest?" So far you are listing size and strength and believe me that doesn't guarentee anything! The best LB has to be consistent in all phases of the defense and against top level competition. That is why Big Red's Petteway is going to WVU. There are kids who questionably rack up 150 plus tackles in a year and can't play at a weak DIII school. Your best LB this year will stand out against the pass as well as the run and will be there every game(barring injury) against good competition. Also be careful praising the LB with 15 tackles in one game if the majority were made 12 yards down field. College coaches want to see a kid dominate in high school with more than half his tackles inside 5-6 yards. They can tell quickly if he pursues properly. Toughest? Save those descriptions for the Toughman Contest, and yet that is usually the best fighter. I watched a young relative die from cancer and never complained or cried. That is what tough is all about!!

I don't know about toughest or anything, but since we are talking about linebackers, I'll give you a name to remember.

Deleon Brand will be a sophomore at Big Red, and while a lot of people know about his exploits at tailback, IMO he may be an even better linebacker. He has that rare knack to read the play and make plays.

Personally, I thought that ramble was pointless. Im pretty sure everyone got what I meant when I said "toughest" Who is the most all around feared MLB in the OVAC. But, Big Reds always seem to have outstanding Linebackers. As do many schools in the valley.

Tolliver from Bellaire was very good last season.

it will be interesting to see how they will utilize Deleon, with L. Luke returning and being a two year starter at MLB.
look for Deleon to move to OLB replacing Petteway.

Yea, I was wondering that too. And with Jo Jo and Redman at TB's he probably won't get that many carries.

I think Redman will be a really good LB too...and then you have Lucky back also.
