Thanks for posting that - I wish I didn't ready it though. Terrible.

JoePa was not forced out. He had to go because of his failure to act more swiftly with the information he had been given. I agree that it does not make any sense that McQuery is still there, but JoePa dug his own grave.

I just cant desribe how disapointed I am .. i am by no means any kind of near perfect person ,but I just find it so hard to believe now that joe Pa wasnt also involved in the cover up .. i mean even after he learned of inproper activity with Sandusky in 2002 . Sandusky has been to practice and bowl games etc .. what about the assistant .... How in the #####.. this is a horror movie and Penn state is the monster.. the whole university need to be eliminated .. no more PSU

Anyone that had knowledge and still allowed Sandusky to maintain access to the facility for many years... is as guilty as Sandusky... They allowed it to continue even after it was identified.... How many kids beyond 2002 were impacted? However many, that is how many kids that are on the hands of the people that turned their heads and ignored the situation...
I am sorry, but Joe Pa should be remembered for exactly that.....
This is not a case where they didn't report it for 1 or two months.. they allowed it to continue for years.... Horrible....
Joe Pa should be stripped of every coaching stat that is tied to him from the point he knew forward...
They will all face their maker in the end...
I would like to know how, any of the protesting students, would react if their little brother was one of those kids... Lets get real...

Without McQueary it would still be going on.

Very true, but McQueary knew and he saw that Sandusky was still around years after his initial report. I mean I don't get it, how could he live with himself if he saw that no action was being taken after he reported this? I'm telling you something is not right.

I also tried to read the grand jury report & had to stop after a page & half ! For this to be sweeped under the rug for this length of time is wrong ! Penn St. should fire everyone & clean house from top to bottom.

Yeah - my original thought of the Fire was for the "sting" and "controversy" around sensitive subjects like high school kids, local coaches, local officials, etc...

When it comes to college and professional sports - we are on a different level with higher level of expectations. People are typically more receptive to "harsh" opinions when personal relationships aren't involved. There is a more "anything goes" approach in this section of the Forum, as long as the language remains appropriate.

With that said - getting back on track. Here is part of an email I exchanged today with a good friend of mine who is very close to the situation in College Park:

People of higher standards within the Commonwealth and University have always known about this.... I'm pissed that the media is saying its Joes fault. There are two people that really covered this whole thing up, its Ray Gricar and Wendall Courtney.

Gricar was the DA for Centre County and said there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute Sandusky in 1998. Just so happens that Gricar disappers, and later found along the Susquehanna River towards Lewisburg, PA in 2004 where he is pronounced legally dead. Then Wendall Courtney who is legal counsel for Penn State just also happens to be legal counsel for the Second Mile foundation at that time, and is still legal counsel for Second Mile! Can you say conflict of interest!?!

What makes it even worse is that since it was an investigation involving a minor all details had to be kept out of the public news, but if Gricar would have pursued charges, then the details (besides the victims name) would have been released and everyone would have known about it then. Its a ****ed up situation, and when its all said and done this will go down as one of the biggest cover ups in the Commonwealths history.
                            Thoughts?

I also know that, "Pride cometh before the fall". JoPa has been shielded by the media covering PSU for decades. Anyone dare questioning him would be cut off by JoPa. Joe had real power, to the point of dangerous. JoPa snapped his finger and everyone jumped possibly even including the local DA. Arrogant and deceitful best describe Joe Paterno.
He could have stopped Sandusky. He chose not to. He was afraid of his empire being tarnished. Children be damned. It's as simple as that.

He is the real douche bag in all of this .. he either is corrupt or inept ... Im thinking he may be corrupt .. Maybe some father of a victim got to him we will never know
