The ncaa has spoken they give ohio a 1 year bowl ban which means they can't compete for a Big Ten championship or a national championship, the loss of 9 scholarships over three years. Also another year was added onto the probabtion period to make it three years total

very surprised. First team to ever get a bowl ban from a failure to monitor charge. NCAA's inconsistency at its finest. Oh, well...you can only hold us down for so long. Go Bucks!
Oh yea, and lets take back all of these self-imposed bans if they don't mean anything to the NCAA.

OK, self-impose a one year bowl ban, N-O-W, in 2011-2012!... Who needs a grabage win/loss against an equally mediocre Florida Team? Other than the 9 scholarships lost over the next three years and being under the watchful eye of the NCAA through 2013, the damage will have been remedied and the new coaching staff and the long list of stellar recruits he is bringing in will not be punished for the crimes of 7 athletes and a head coach who are no longer a part of the program or the university. The NCAA gave no consideration to any of OSU's self-imposed penalties, so why would they mind if the program just shut down for the Holidays, sent the staff and players home for the Holidays, and said screw the Jan. 2nd affair in the Gator Bowl?... Oh yeah, *MONEY*!... The NCAA, the SEC and the Big Ten, along with the institutions competing have *MONEY* on their minds... The NCAA is inconsistent in the investigations of programs and conferences, and is looking only at the bottom line: *MONEY*, period.

Missed point. The NCAA drug it's proverbial butt when acting upon their 'final sanctions.' Had they acted a month ago and told OSU no bowl game this year, the sentence would have been served in another week and a half. And, yes, the Buckeyes could very easily have self-imposed a bowl ban, along with the other penalties, prior to this season. Finally, last year, this investigation had barely begun in December without any evidentiary findings. My point is give Coach Meyer and the Team a fresh start, rather than an albotross hanging around their necks, for the whole season next year, much like the one Buckeye Nation just suffered through? We'll be back... We can live without the scholarships and face the music regarding the probabtion through 2013.
