Actually both. Depending on how the varsity teams stack up, they may make varsity roster. Also, the Ghaphery girl at Bishop played well this summer.

I know this has nothing to do with freshman but the Creek has an 8th grader that is at least 6' and and run the court well.

I enjoy watching girls basketball. When I was in school it was not like today. The final scores were 21 to 18. The girls are much better now. I saw a team last year with two fantastic players and they were in eighth grade. Their names were both emily. They were from St. Michaels. I would think they are the best girls at their age. I bet they will be great high school players.

The clown is a little grumpy. Maybe he should go to a girls game or two he might be surprised how well they play.

                              Fab Frosh Update

A little update due to lost info.

The OC had 7 girls from our teams enter their freshman year...all 7 made varsity...at Wheeling Central, Wheeling Park, John Marshall, and Shadyside.

Shadyside had their 1st game the other night...and one of our baby blues', #22 came off the bench in the 1st and ended as high scorer with 21. #33 also came off the bench with 8...combined 29 of the 63 points!

Wait till they take the wraps off #15 !!!

The WV teams will begin play soon...WOW...what a start!!!

though the box score in the paper had #33 with 8, she actually had 12. One thing not in the box scores is how the 2 freshman played defense. #22, though not big, played very hard and keep her opponent from getting many easy looks. #33 is more of a scrappy player and it showed when she was put on Rosecrans best player and shut her down. Give credit to the other shadyside players since they all picked up the defense whenever the Rosecrans made a run. Season and future look bright for the Tigers.
