from the Clinton-Massie website: players and cheerleaders will be let out at 11:30. Bus leaves for Steubenville at 12, will stop at a rest stop along the way. So they will be in Steubenville well before game time.

all great matchups but this is the first meeting of two medium size powers and on top of that we are both public schools . that in itself makes it very interesting . Would you agree?

Ok, let’s talk about what we know, based solely on their last game (only because I like to talk about semi-tangible items)
We know that Clinton Massie can run & pass, but favors the run! In their last game, their leading rusher was their Dual threat QB #16 (4/6 for 49yards 131.3 qb rating), but one of those runs was a 70 yarder (so we really don't know if he's the run first type or just saw an opportunity, seeing how he only "rushed" 4 times, I'd have to lean toward seeing an opportunity), he must be fast too! They only ran 30 total plays, running 24 (304 yards) times and passing 6 (49 yards) times. After the QB the leading rusher was #28 with 96 yards on 13 carries, then #39 with 64 yards on 3 carries; so they rely on the run and they all have the ability to break out for long runs. The receiver with the most yards is #81 with 39 yards and a TD, the only person with yardage is #28 with 10. They also got a 2 point conversion by passing!

Two of their scores were on the defensive side of the ball getting 4 ints two of them for scores, so their DBs are good, so we'll have to be careful passing the ball. With that said, it looks like Blanchester was able to move the ball pretty well by passing (leading to their first score in the first quarter) with a pretty weak fake option by the QB. The QB also got decent yardage with a qb option. So I'm wondering if the DBs have a tendency to bite on the run?

Something else I noticed was that their starters were still playing well into the 4th quarter, so does that mean they don't have the depth to maintain a 30 to 7 lead at the half, or is it part of their practice to build "game time stamina"?

Anyone have feedback on Mandela's status, he actually got in for a few select plays against JFK. Were they saving and testing him for this week, or is it noteworthy concern?

You know, you're right. I hadn't thought about the Public School factor, of which I am a huge fan. You have convinced me!
