Senior Chris Smelley is on track to become the school's all-time leading rusher. He currently has 4,235 yards in his four years. Bryan Widmor totalled 4,238 during his stellar career. Smelley, a 6-1, 230-pounder, has run for 1,357 yards this season while scoring 18 touchdowns.

That is from the article in the times leader today about Bridgeports playoff game

It would have been interesting. The 3 semifinal teams in addition to Hardin that year were 2 time defending champ St. Henry, Norwalk St. Paul and eventual state champ Mogadore. I think Bridgeport would have beaten Norwalk St. Paul pretty easily. St. Henry and Mogadore would have been tough though, but with that defense and running game that year I wouldn't have counted the Dogs out against anyone.

Interesting note, Mogadore and St. Henry played in what still is the greatest high school game I have ever seen. St. Henry led 37-9 at halftime. Mogadore came back in the 2nd half to tie it at 37. St. Henry then took the lead again before Mogadore tied it again at 44 to send it into OT, where they won it 61-58 in 3 OVERTIMES!

Not positive of the actual score, but Hardin Northern was up on St.Henry at half big, in the neighborhood of 28 points, like 31-3ish...St.Henry came back to win that semi finals game 48-40...Crazy year in D-6
