Relax people. It's a hoax. These people read the story in NYTimes and are now messing around with people's minds.

The police aren't the Keystone Cops. Whatever evidence is out there, they have it.

I think they probably backed it up through their server, gatorhost.

Most hosts will be able to research and find out how the server was exploited/attacked, and patch the hole.

That's my educated guess on what happened.

I did, kind of makes me wonder if WTOV would've reported the story at noon if the Mothership hadn't touched on the subject earlier in the morning....

I have one observation. This certainly seems like a witch hunt against a football team and it's program. Now everyone can claim that they want "justice for the girl". That's the "default" claim. It sure doesn't look like thats what people on this board are really looking for. Every time this topic is mentioned they talk about Steubenville's football team. How the football team should be punished. How the coach should be punished and fired. How everyone on the "football " team should pay the price. Go back and look at the post within the last 4 months. There is not much mention of the victim. It is so very obvious what most of you want out of this. No one likes a winner unless you are a fan of theirs. Especially in the Ohio Valley. I don't know much about the make up of the people there, but by reading all of your post about this matter you certainly show what your primary goal is. You are using the so called victim in this situation to help your cause. It seems to me that most of you are so upset at the Steubenville football program that you are willing to except anything bad about them as the truth. No matter if you know that its true or not. Stop and think about it. It's funny how consistant most of you are about what should be done in this situation. You all are users. You could care less about this victim. All you want is for the Steubenville Big Red program to get hurt. To get back at all those "arrogant" fans that spout off about how good their team is all the time. To hurt that coach that seems to be bigger than life. The coach that all outsiders hate because he is the reason they are winning. This is a very terrible situation for all involved. The girl and her parents and the 2 boys and their parents. I'm guessing non of you have children, or if you do they must be perfect. Contrary to what most of you want to believe, this is about 3 young adults and their parents. This is about getting to the bottom of this with the FACTS and letting the court decide. Of course, once again, you say the courts in Steubenville are "rigged". The girl can't get a fair trial. That makes you mad too. It's easy to see in your posts. You have to be an idiot if you can't read into the post of most of the people here. What a shame that most of you are using this situation to hurt a football team. A team that is made up of young adults like your children are. A team that happens to win alot and everyone hates a winner. It's so obvious what most of you have as an agenda. Now you will answer my post as I would expect. You will use the old default card that I mentioned earlier. You'll talk (for a few minutes) about how the victim is the reason you want justice and then after a few of those post you'll get back on the REAL agenda. You know what your REAL agenda is. The funny thing is SO does everyone else that is not inolved in these conversations for the sake of the 3 peole involved. Have a Wonderful Christmas. I pray that this truly didn't happen to this young girl. For both her sake and the sake of the boys! That's how all of you should feel!

He is doing the same thing that he is accusing everyone else as doing. Labeling them as a whole.
So the NYT, Cleveland Plain Dealer and all the other out of area reports have the same "agenda"?
They must be jealous of Big Red just like everyone else.
People are tired of things being swept under the rug and are happy to see that this incident is not going that way.

OMG COACHB your post in my opinion is repped, repped and repped! I've been on this sight reading these ridiculous posts esp the one about the New York Times article and i have been sickened about how pathetic the adults in the Ohio Valley have become!! This site and most of it's posters should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not from Steubenville but I live in this great Ohio Valley and most importantly I'm in the medical profession and I hope to God no one close to this case is reading any of your accusations. This my friend is the reason teenagers commit suicide, commit murders etc...it's ppl like you who drive ppl with weak minds as it is to do something so horrific. STOP the joking, STOP the accusations, let justice take it's course. This is NOT about a team, coaches or a school system. It's about 2 or 3 boys who may have committed a crime and about a poor girl who may have been the victim. These boys could have been YOUR children or on the golf team or the track team or on NO team. There are innocent parents involved here too....Are you not parents?! Have you stopped to think what YOU would do if this was your daughter or son?! OH NO because your to busy worrying about the BIG RED football team going down the tubes along with the whole city of Steubenville. SHAME on all of you....BTW where were you when the teenager in Wheeling burned his girlfriends daughter to death in the bathtub a few months ago?! OH wait a minute the boy wasn't on a FOOTBALL team so you don't care right?! GET a life people start acting like adults....feel sorry for this town and the situation it is in
right now....there is soooo much negative around us....why can't we change this negativity and hope for the best for all involved.

Has it occurred to anyone that "if", as some have claimed this is a hoax, it is a hoax that is sure to get the attention and ire of "real" anonymous members. I for one don't believe it's a hoax. Who in their right mind would want to bring down the wrath of that group?
Also, "if" there is any evidence that is placed in the public domain, it would most assuredly be available for law enforcement and prosecutors to bring charges against those who the evidence might implicate. As far as information that is put in the public domain, no matter how it got there, you have no greater expectation of privacy regarding such information than you do in the trash that you put out on the curb.
So, as long as the police were not the ones who initiated the invasion of your privacy, they are/would be able to use the information disclosed to get a search warrant and begin filing charges and prosecution.

Sir or Ma'am. The outside media get their information by asking the "local" people what happened. The media, while they may have interviewed both sides of the story, knows that only one side sells papers. You do realize that don't you?
