I've seen some really sloppy "journalism" here. From the NYT getting site ownership incorrect, to the WTRF reporter relaying that the "redrollred" site was hacked. And I'm not even going to get into that sorry Plain Dealer reporter. Jeez, I really can't tolerate sloppiness and laziness.

Glad to see Cody finally admit that he screwed up, big time. Some others need to face facts, and deal with the damage they've caused also.

The police aren't the Keystone Cops. Whatever evidence is out there, they have it.

They covered a website hacking more than the actual incident that led to the hacking. Unbelievable. And then the sheriff calls them a bunch of idiots. Apparently he doesn't know what he's up against.

I can respect what Saltsman did. It takes courage to admit when you're wrong. He was wrong, and admit it.

I agree. But he, and everyone else involved, should have been doing it since day one. Instead they were all just looking out for their own interests. Apologizing because someone threatens to do something bad to you if you don't, doesn't mean your sorry. It means you're still just looking out for yourself.

Either of the two charged could still do the right thing. Stand up, say exactly what happened, take no deals, and take the punishment your given. An apology doesn't mean squat when you're still just looking out for yourself.

What makes you think that the local authorities are investigating this any faster than the original case?

The original case wasn't even reported to the police until a week or 2 after the crime took place. After that the police can then start questioning people, obtaining warrants, etc... It takes a while to build a strong case on a serious crime. And rushing the process will often lead to holes that the defense can attack to get evidence thrown out.

The local police aren't even equipped to handle internet crimes like hacking. So how is it that you think they are somehow investigating this. About all they can do is take the statement and info and hand it off to someone else. There it will get buried and pushed aside since it's a privets website.

News media, well that's a different story. Half the population asking last night why they aren't covering it, the other half this morning asking why they are so quick to cover it..... Win/Lose

Check your facts. The parents filed a report within 2 days of the incident.

IMO, I dont think the reason for the apologies are about showing remorse. I think they are about admitting to guilt and ending the denial.
There has not been one person involved in this that has ever admitted to any wrong doing. Starting with the boys on trial, the three witnesses who claimed they didnt think what they were doing was wrong ( which is complete BS, they are not 4 or 5 year olds , they are 16-17 there is no doubt they knew what they were doing was wrong, no one is that dumb). Then you have the prosecutor and law authorities that with out a doubt drug their feet in the begining because of who was involved and not to mention quickly handed get out of jail cards before they had all the evidence back. Then you have Reno who doesnt know anything and is just a broke down football coach. Then you have the superintendent and principal they didnt know anything or check into because Reno was handling it and they cant make any comments about it now because of legal issues ( how convenient is that to hide behind) and then on top of all that you have the idiot die hard supporters , that after hearing or reading the witnesses testimony still dont believe there was any wrong doing or try to put the blame on the girl.

With all that and all those people not ONE person involved in this has admitted to any other wrong doing other than point the finger at the two boys on trial. I really think they all thought those two boys would go down and the rest would just walk away unscathed and they might but I hope not.

I think the apologies are just about admitting what happened , you cant get help if you dont admit you have a problem ,you cant fix something if you cant see that its broke.

And like I said this is just my opinion.
