The Pittsburgh Pirates today released information on 2012 Postseason ticket procedures and pricing, as well as ticket pricing for the 2013 season. Pirates Full Season, 41-Game, and 20-Game season ticket holders will be receiving their 2013 renewal packages, which will include 2012 Postseason information, early next week.

Current Pirates Season Ticket Holders will receive the first priority for Postseason ticket availability, as well as realize the greatest value in postseason ticket pricing. To reward the team’s most loyal fans, the Pirates ensured that all current full-season, half-season and 20-game plan holders will be offered a discount ranging from 16 to 30 percent over the individual Postseason ticket price.

Current Pirates Season Ticket Holders will be given the opportunity to purchase the same number of Postseason ticket strips as seats in their accounts, as well as the same number of additional strips as seats in their accounts, with maximum of four additional strips per account.

Fans who pay a deposit toward a 2013 Full Season, 41-Game, or 20-Game season ticket plan will also receive Postseason priority and will be able to purchase playoff strips at the individual ticket prices.

Individual tickets for each round will be made available beginning with a public on sale in late September for the Wild Card and National League Divisional Series at the same time. Future rounds will go on sale to the general public at later dates.

While Postseason ticket pricing is formulated in accordance to Major League Baseball Postseason guidelines, the Pirates will continue to offer some of the best values in Major League Baseball, as fans can purchase tickets for as low as $17 for the first two rounds of the Postseason.

“Our loyal fans have waited too long for the opportunity to see Postseason baseball in Pittsburgh. Clint Hurdle and this group of players will battle over the next 44 games in an effort to give our fans that opportunity,” said Frank Coonelly, Pirates President. “It is important to us to show our Season Ticket Holders our appreciation for their support by offering them the first priority on Postseason tickets and a special Season Ticket Holders price.”

The Pirates also announced that the average ticket price for the 2013 season will once again represent one of the lowest in Major League Baseball.

The Pirates average ticket price of $16.11 in 2012 was the third-lowest in Major League Baseball according to Team Marketing Report. Under the Team Marketing Report formula, the 2013 average ticket price will be $17.21. This new price for 2013 would still have been the fourth-lowest average ticket price in MLB in 2012, according to Team Marketing Report, 36 percent below the 2012 Major League Baseball average price of $26.98.
