WVU Football Alum in the NFL

Fifteen former West Virginia University football players are currently on NFL rosters. Here is a recap of each player’s week 17 action, as well as a recap of their respective season.

Corey McIntyre – Buffalo Bills
In the Bills 28-9 win over the Jets, McIntyre recorded one tackle on special teams and saw action at fullback.

For the season, McIntyre played in all 16 games, made three starts, had one reception for nine yards, and collected six tackles.

J.T. Thomas – Chicago Bears
Thomas did not record any statistics in the Bears 26-24 win over the Lions.

For the season, Thomas played in all 16 games, forced two fumbles and notched five tackles.

Adam Jones – Cincinnati Bengals 
Jones recorded three tackles and returned two punts for six yards in the Bengals 23-17 win over the Ravens.

Jones, who played in all 16 games this season, finished the regular season with 40 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one punt return touchdown.

Robert Sands – Cincinnati Bengals
Sands was placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the season, after he suffered a season-ending chest injury.

Don Barclay – Green Bay Packers 
Barclay made his fourth consecutive start at right tackle in the Packers 37-34 loss to the Vikings.

Barclay saw action in all 16 games during the regular season, as he contributed on special teams to begin the season and closed out the season as the Packers’ starting right tackle.

Pat McAfee – Indianapolis Colts 
In the Colts 28-16 win over the Texans, McAfee punted a total of five times, had two punts downed inside the 20-yard line and averaged 46 yards per punt.

McAfee finished fourth in the NFL with a yards per punt average of 48.2 yards. In total, McAfee punted 73 times and had 26 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.

Selvish Capers – New York Giants
Capers saw action in his third game this season, as he was active for the Giants 42-7 win over the Eagles.

Ellis Lankster – New York Jets
In the Jets 28-9 loss to the Bills, Lankster did not record any statistics.

Lankster, who played in 15 games and made one start this season, recorded 39 tackles, intercepted two passes, had one sack and forced one fumble.

Will Johnson – Pittsburgh Steelers
Johnson started at fullback for the second-straight week and recorded two receptions for 17 yards in the Steelers 24-10 win over the Browns.

Johnson saw action in all 16 games this season, including seven starts, as he hauled in 15 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. The first-year pro also had two carries for a total of seven yards.

Ryan Mundy – Pittsburgh Steelers 
Mundy collected three tackles in the Steelers 24-10 win over the Browns.

Mundy finished his 2012 season with 39 total tackles and two pass breakups.

Bruce Irvin – Seattle Seahawks 
In the Seahawks 20-13 win, Irvin had one tackle.

Irvin finished the season first amongst rookies with eight sacks and tied for No. 29 amongst all players in sacks.

Najee Goode – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 
Goode, who was active for the second-straight week, did not record any statistics in the Buccaneers 22-17 win over the Falcons.

In total, Goode saw action in three games this season, but he did not record any statistics.

Keith Tandy – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 
In the Buccaneers 22-17 win over the Falcons, Tandy was active, but he did not record any statistics.

Tandy, who played in nine contests, closed out the season by being active in each of the final six games. The first-year pro amassed three tackles and carried the ball once for 18 yards on a fake punt this season.

Darius Reynaud – Tennessee Titans 
In the Titans 38-20 win over the Jaguars, Reynaud had punt return touchdowns of 69 and 81 yards, as he became the first player in franchise history to return two punts for touchdowns. In addition, Reynaud carried the ball three times for a total of one yard and returned three kickoffs for 39 yards.

Reynaud was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Jaguars.

For the season, Reynaud ranked second in the league with 1,240 kickoff return yards (23.4 avg) and fourth with 410 punt return yards (13.2 avg).

Chris Neild – Washington Redskins 
Neild was placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the season, after he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
