It was an easy win for Bluefield as they downed the Polar Bears of Fairmont Senior 63-43. Anthony Eades was absolutely phenomenal dropping 27 point and shooting 9-17 from the floor. Lykel Collier and Corey Coppola each had 12 for the Beavers. Fairmont Senior’s leading scorer was Shaquille Washington with 7.
Bluefield ran away from this one from the beginning. Eades and Collier were too much for the Polar Bears to defend. Fairmont Senior didn’t have anyone of the court that could stick with Collier. The difference maker in the game was Lykel Collier, he could move wherever he wanted too and made beautiful passes to his teammates, which led to his seven assists. Fairmont Senior did have the edge in rebounding but struggled from the field shooting on 34.7% for the games.
In last season’s AA state title game the Beavers lost to Tug Valley, but Bluefield would not be denied this year as they coasted to a victory. Eades drives toward the basket.
