WHEELING — The percentages keep going up. That’s not to brag, but rather reiterate what I said earlier in the season pertaining to it being easier to select games the deeper we get.

The Steubenville teams — Big Red and Catholic Central — provided two of my losses this week, and St. Clairsville topped Bellaire in a toss up game that could have gone either way.

But now it’s getting down to the nitty gritty and playoff positioning — and in some cases berths themselves — are coming into focus.
Let’s not delay any farther and get into this week’s selections.

Oak Glen 23, Brooke 17
The Bruins are markedly improved, but the Bears have a little more fire power.

Wheeling Park 27, Morgantown 21
It would be understandable if the Patriots come out more than a little rusty.

Williamstown 34, Weir 13
Second straight Class A power on the schedule for the Red Riders.

Magnolia 26, Frontier 20
Blue Eagles get back in the victory column.

Trinity 37, Hundred 6
Trinity rebounds from loss to Cameron.

Wheeling Central 42, Martins Ferry 7
This is the time the Maroon Knights generally shine.

Toronto 33, Madonna 32
It’s been a rough stretch for the Red Knights.

Buffalo 35, Tyler Consolidated 28
UPSET SPECIAL: Buffalo may be under .500, but don’t be deceived.

Cameron 51, Valley 3
The Dragons continue to breathe fire.

Steubenville 56, Allderdice 12
It’s a must for Big Red — eighth in D-III, Region 9 — to get back on track.

Edison 34, Harrison Central 20
Wildcats sitting in eighth spot in D-V, Region 17.

Beaver Local 30, Indian Creek 9
Redskins can’t make it two in a row.

Barnesville 38, Monroe Central 14
Shamrocks’ shutout streak ends at two games, but they get the W.

Buckeye Local 33, Calvert 15
Another game Buckeye should win.

St. Clairsville 40, Union Local 13
Statement game for the Red Devils, who are second in D-IV, Region 15.

Canton Central Catholic 21, Linsly 20
The Crusaders have likewise played a heckuva schedule.

Shadyside 34, Bellaire 24
Second straight tough loss for the Big Reds.

Warren 26, Cambridge 22
This should be a good one.

River 32, Bridgeport 10
Pilots too strong for Bridgeport.

Struggles continue for the Crusaders.
