Well, they're a solid program and will bring down a handful of D1 players; their 6'6 QB, who is getting a lot of p5 looks, is back, as is a DE with a Duke offer and a WR with a BC offer.

D1 players mean zero to me for the simple fact I see hundred of them on both side lines every football Saturday.

Long Island Lutheran is a very expensive, highly rated academic high school that has won numerous New York State basketball state Championships. The school attracts students from throughout suburban New York.

Congratulations, what exactly is your point? Big Red has played a lot of OOS teams that were the best team they played all year. So... What's your point?

You can be a D1 recruit and never play a down in college football.A hundred D1 recruits standing on the sideline every college football Saturday, and the only time they are on the field is pregame and postgame. You know, big fish small pond, small fish big pond.

You mean some D1 prospects don't make it? I think everyone realizes that.

There is no denying the talent gap between Power 5 scholarship players and a talented high school athlete who may or may not play at the sub-D1 level. It is silly to act like a guy who's going Power 5 isn't a more intriguing watch and also a good measuring stick for certain kids.

I did not say the LIL guys were Metro Atlantic PWOs; I said they were receiving P5 looks and offers. How many current OVAC underclassmen have P5 offers?

You must officiate or coach at the D1 level.

I would love to see Mogadore make the trip down. I know they are D6, but they are one of the most successful small school programs in Ohio. I know you guys will be younger this season. If Mogadore has a lot back from last season I bet that would be a good matchup for week 8.

Won't happen this season but I enjoyed the all day football events. Would be cool if the ovac actually set up an event having match-ups from each class. Could play games at Harding and Wheeling Island stadiums.

Not much opportunity left in Ohio in weeks 8 & 9. Canfield is looking for a game. I’m guessing those weeks will be filled by OOS teams

If you remember, Canfield was supposed to be on the schedule last year and for this season. But they backed out of that deal. So I don’t we see them

It would be a great game for Big Red to play near the end of the season, but I doubt Mogadore would be eager to travel, especially with the playoffs just a few weeks away. Except for QB Haney and LB/TB Crosier, who will be key contributors as sophomores, I don't think Big Red will have many young players. They'll have several new starters, but not any more than they had last season (They replaced 13 starters this year 2023 and will need to replace 12 next year 2024).
