Well Chief, I believe he would've gotten us a D4 Championship, and he definitely gave us our only chance to win a D3 title, but we would've reached the regional semifinal had Haney been the Qb.
I would also challenge where they may of ended up in D3 without QB1 returning. I could easily of seen 2-3 games going the other way with a sophomore QB who definitely needed this season to grow instead of being throw in whether people agreed with that or not. The larger ball comes out a little differently than it does in middle school
Separately, was told by a great source Friday that Watterson is turning kids away trying to come play there. BR will be dealing with them for the foreseeable future. kids are gravitating to the former D1 and NFL players now coaching there

While a challenging regular season schedule can help prepare a team, it's ultimately the talent and execution of the players along with effective coaching that determine postseason success. No amount of a loaded schedule was going to have St. C or Big Red win last night.
A team with the 106th-ranked schedule, for example, was able to blow out Bellaire, win a playoff game as an underdog, and play with Poland who was 1 point away from being regional champion.
but I also understand OVAC teams scheduling down to generate wins, get butts in the seats and get momentum started in a program.
my hats are off to teams like Ferry and CCHS who have generated buzz in there towns.
There is only 1 state champ. Nothing wrong with winning in season and maybe 1-2 playoff games as long as you realize where you are in that division hierarchy.

I tried to reason w/ facts but people started taking shots at Bellaire so… yeah. What are you here for? You disown your alma mater and align yourself w/ a school that isn’t much better. Is that what real men do?

You think I give a rat’s behind about them? I came from Bellaire so that’s who I root for. That you disown the school you graduated from is sad but I can definitely see why — they stink and you’re a coward.
I must say Bellaire really proves itself on this site between you and Pride.

Tonight proved that gap between IV and St C is very big.
region 15 was not competitive this season. Many of the big programs moved up to D3.
IV played at least 3 teams in the regular season better than St. C.

You’re right on that.
Been on this site for almost 3x as long as you have and haven’t seen you say a single thing in support of them. Rather, you disown them every chance you get. Doesn’t get much clearer than “I have absolutely nothing to do with Bridgeport” — a comment made barely over a month ago. But go ahead, keep twisting my words and make it personal to try to imagine yourself winning the argument.
And you take the cake all by yourself, not that Bridgeport or Park has much to prove. When was the last time either of them was relevant?

Watterson will be a force for at least the next few years, whether in 3 or 2. I had Big Red at #4 in D3 all year, and I still believe that, but there is a nice gap between them and the top 2 privates (TCC, BW).

New Lex is probably a better team than St C. If they would have matched up with St.C I would predict a shootout with a pass vs run team.
someone mentioned st c playing canton south next season. They need to schedule a really tough game like a Dover, New Phila, Tri-Valley, West Muskingum, Sheridan, Licking Valley. Not sure if any of those are open or not.

So let’s just judge my support of my Alma mater by what’s said on a message board. I support them in other ways that’s not on a message board if you really need to know. I guess I better prove that to you. I’m done arguing with you for now but I’m sure you will do some name calling and continue to hide behind your little screen. I guess that just must be a Bellaire thing.
It’s an argument precisely b/c we’re going back and forth. If that’s too strong of language for you, then call it a debate, a discussion, whatever you want. It’s not just fireside chat IMO.
I already said Bellaire didn’t have a great season in response to purple elevators. Unlike most others on this site, I have no problem admitting when my team is down, underachieves, etc. They are in the midst of a seemingly endless cycle of going nowhere so there’s really nothing to talk about w/ them. But there IS much to talk about w/ the pretenders surrounding Bellaire so... In resurrecting this thread, I defensed why teams like Bellaire deserve more credit but you and all of your BFFs love to hate on Bellaire so as long as you guys keep taking shots with your petty “likes” and barbs directed at pride who’s not even here, I’m going to match you in kind. Bellaire endured a season of your bs attacks. It’s your turn now.
