sure as soon as bellaire does. maybe they both can . after all they are open weeks 1,2,3 and 9.

why doesnt big red play glenville or watterson in the regular season.?

yes we all know big red is the top program in the ovac. but is that really saying much ?

lets face it this area is not going to produce a state title team on the ohio side, maybe they will on the wva side.

this area has alot of good teams and programs , but no where near what they used to be.

it is sad that the 3 best teams in this area big red, st.c, and barnesville could not win at least a regional title.

maybe the area will have better luck in basketball.

name me one program in this area is on the same level as a kirkland, ironton, marion local, south range , and others
you notice i only mentioned teams in the 5,6,and 7 divisions. since that is where most of the valley teams are.

i know this is a long laul since there is no sports going on right now. thankfully the girls have started playing now.

What’s sad is Big Red has 20 Regional Championships and combined the rest of the Ohio Teams in the Valley combined have what?! Not even half that amount maybe! I love how people come on here ragging on Steubenville but in all reality if it wasn’t for Big Reds 4 Titles and Catholic Centrals 2 the Mighty OVAC would have a Big Fat Goose Egg for Championships. So say what u will about how many home games they play or who they play, it works for them. Keep playing your OVAC schedule so you can hang those banners.

i am talking about this year only. not what they did in years past.

you are also representing the ovac in the playoffs as well.

Off the top of my head, Belmont County has 13 regional titles collectively. Add another 6 for all other OVAC schools and the total is 19, but I’m probably missing some.

SCC has 2 championships? I thought they won one and lost the other in ‘05.

You do realize Big Red is known as a top program in the entire state and not just the OVAC

You’re right on SCC, I was thinking of the one before playoffs. So Valley has more than half but still less, LOL .

Sorry for the delay in getting back... busy week. That last part was really funny -- the all-seeing "eye" isn't so all-seeing IMO. In his defense, Watterson may well be the last one standing in D3. They're also the only team I would have any remote rooting interest in at this point.

And nice to see you're back. Did you treat McNich Coach O to a steak dinner when he was in town?

Good comeback. Being honest, we both know such a matchup is unthinkable unless we consolidate and thus make Malkin's dreams come true.

Nothing's going to change south of Jefferson County unless people wake up to the reality that the brand of football being played is light years behind the rest of the state. I don't know a lot but the one thing I stand by is scheduling, along with strong school/community support. I'm still amazed that Marion Local's coach is also the school principal. Just take that one detail and imagine how it must impact kids and motivate them to work harder.

You say "at least" win a regional title. In defense of the teams that got to Week 14, that is a big accomplishment by itself. It's just the margin of loss that tends to be eye-opening for me personally.

Let it out. I know it's difficult. Must be so hard being triggered so easily, only to have to remind everyone just how many regional and state titles you have. It's sort of become a rite of passage before/after Thanksgiving each year. Someone says something mean and there you are (or any BR fan) to defend the cause of The Mighty Red. I think this site has a cry room if it helps. If not, then we need to get one.

You think? You're on here whining about Barnesville and St. C getting more recognition than Bellaire. Not to mention your emotions over alumni leaving Bellaire (lmao), and don't forget about the difficult time you had dealing with the two St. John's kids leaving for Steubenville. I'm sure every time you think about that, you put on a black suit and sunglasses.

Glad you stay up late for my posts. It's not about more "recognition" for Bellaire but exposing the OV pretenders who don't schedule worth a damn on an annual basis. Bellaire does schedule worth a damn so I will gladly accept this chance you've given me to add to their "recognition." Again, you wouldn't be anywhere without a Bellaire product sending his sons to your school; let's talk about that some more. I think the '17 state title gets erased completely and who knows where you finish this year. Even one of your own disagrees w/ you on Haney. Now to reaffix my black suit and sunglasses...

Eye no eye never said Watterson would win it all. Eye said TCC would. Eye also didn’t see u make an attempt to predict the state champions. Can’t be wrong if you don’t make a prediction.

And I never said that you said Watterson would win it all but the hyperbole you're using is as close as it gets. You think "Watterson may very well be the best team in Columbus any division" but do NOT think they will win D3?? "Make it make sense" to borrow from Rack. Last year, you also said not to be surprised if Alter won the state championship and they didn't come close.

Just looked at the semifinal matchups for the first time and don't know a thing about the teams in divisions 1-3. Someone other than IV in D4. Possibly Liberty Center in D5 (they should be hungry; took quite an individual performance from Perry's QB last year to beat them and I don't buy into Ironton's hype at this level). Possibly Coldwater in D6 to upset Kirtland. MSML in D7 by a mile.

When the playoffs first began I started a thread to pick the state champions. I believe five or six people participated.

Grandpa, I posted at 9:08. Again, stop crying about recognition and alumni departures. All I know is that the Davis kids attended Bellaire St. Johns, not Bellaire High School. In the last two years, St. Ignatius, Dublin Coffman, and CVCA have all had All-State players and state champions whose fathers attended BR. I didn't cry over that. I am happy for them. I'd also be thrilled for you and Bellaire High if you won the Buckeye 8 title. If you accomplish that, I am confident that you will begin to receive recognition, credit, respect, and all of the other benefits that come with having a B8T.

Grandma, get out your bifocals. The time on your post says 12:08 a.m. I can only go by what it says. You quoted part of a post I made at 9:22. If you posted @ 9:08, how could you copy something I hadn’t even written yet?? LMAO Nevermind. Your mileage was wrong so I guess you’re probably wrong in most anything involving remedial math, using one’s eyeballs, etc… basic human functions.

I couldn’t care less about the B8T. It would be a start to real success but we both know it’s regional titles & beyond that actually matter.

Bellaire could stand to have its homegrown talent stay in the system. That’s not me crying but giving a well informed opinion. We don’t have populous of 15,000 to draw from or an OE figure of a thousand. When resources are scarce, attrition becomes that much more magnified. SHS can more easily afford to lose guys to Iggy, Coffman, CVCA, et al. I also said coaching was part of the problem. We obviously aren’t getting it done on multiple levels but hey, I like our scheduling. It beats scheduling automatic wins, then losing in Week 11.
